Burgundy (Red) - 2008
Saved by a north wind at harvest, 2008 has turned out to be a lovely vintage with concentrated fruit, ripe tannins and a wonderfully refreshing acidity. The vintage produced low yields (20-30% less than 2007).
The unusual combination of concentrated wines with considerable weight and density yet lovely freshness, caused by maturation by evaporation, produces quite extrovert wines which can be enjoyed relatively early, but the best will keep well. Terroir is well delineated. The quality hierarchy is well respected, so trading up is worthwhile.

This is made from a number of small parcels of four premiers crus (Clos Sorbé, Charrières, Milandes, Ruchots). Fine fruit, but currently firm with good grip. Will be delicious between 2016-2020
