The Society has finished top of a survey run by consumer magazine Which?
. The report, published in the May 2011 issue, surveyed 12,286 of its online members, and The Wine Society finished first with a customer score of 86%, the next best score was 64%.
Respondents were asked to rate nine UK wine clubs, including Waitrose, Laithwaites and The Sunday Times Wine Club, for delivery, managing orders, ease of cancelling, quality, range, and value for money. The Society achieved the top score (five stars) in four of the categories, including quality of wines – the only club to achieve the highest rating in this area, and four stars in the other two.
Eight out of ten of those surveyed said that value for money is the most important factor when choosing a wine club and The Society scored well on this point too.
The report concludes: ‘…when it comes to choosing a wine club, the message from Which? members is clear. Its range and quality of wines coupled with the ordering and delivery experience sees The Wine Society win by a distance.’
‘This is a great credit to our staff and all the hard work they put in to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our Society,’ said The Society’s Chief Executive Oliver Johnson.
