Blanquette de Limoux Méthode Ancestrale

Blanquette de Limoux Méthode Ancestrale

Delightful, sweet effervescent white, fermented just once in bottle. Refreshing and very light in body and alcohol. The mauzac grape has a distinctive appley flavour which comes out here very clearly. Try with tarte tatin.

"Bought for Mrs M, who has the sweetest tooth in the world and normally likes the Martini Asti Spumante. I persuaded her that there is more to life than that old pony and she loved this one. But you have to be keen on sweet sparkling though. I took a sip (away from a lovely WS red, just to try it) and it seemed very good to me, as one who avoids sweet wine as a rule."

Mr Richard Morton (20-Jan-2013)

"A very pleasing and refreshing wine which we enjoyed with panna cotta and rose wine fruit jelly. Also a talking point over the dinner table given its relative obscurity."

Mr Jonathan Ivers (10-May-2011)

"Lovely fresh flavoured wine, not only successful with caramelised oranges, but also with stilton later on. Nice to have a low alcohol option which tastes this good."

Mr David Lay (29-Jan-2011)

"Best description of this would be an alcoholic sparkling apple juice drink - like adding a dash of spirit to appletiser. Really fragrant, light and fruity; has some acidity there, but is masked behind the sweetness. Very cheerful little wine and the low alcohol levels means you can drink it with abandon. Serve very cold with light fruit-based desserts."

Mr Davy Kurniawan (13-Oct-2010)

"This is a great wine to have with a fruit dessert. Low in alcohol, sweet but with a dry finish. Different but really nice. I keep coming back for more."

Mr Tim Webster (08-Apr-2010)
