Côte de Beaune

The Côte de Beaune is at the southern end of the Côte d’Or and although some fine reds are also produced here, the vineyards of the Côte de Beaune are more famous for their whites. The south-east facing slopes which maximise ripening in the cool climate, and the mix of clay and limestone soils combine to make some of the world’s most sought-after wines made from the chardonnay grape; seven of the eight white grands crus are found here.
