Sauvignon Blanc

New Zealand usurped the Loire as ‘King of Sauvignon’ years ago, but the French are fighting back and now produce a range of styles to suit all palates. In fact, its popularity never waned, whether from the classic appellations of Sancerre or Pouilly-Fumé, or in more modest guises. It is sometimes blended with chardonnay, but most are pure sauvignon blanc, without the distraction of oak flavours.
