Anjou, Touraine

For many, the wines of Anjou-Saumur and Touraine epitomise the Loire Valley, perhaps because the proliferation of fairytale castles here is everyone’s mental image of the area, but it is also because just about every style of wine is made here and from almost every Loire grape. From noble-rot affected chenin in Coteaux du Layon to chenin at every sweetness level in Vouvray and fresh, herbaceous sauvignon blanc in Touraine.
