"Unusually, the red grapes were picked before the whites, starting at the end of August. In the white grapes, full flavour maturity lagged behind potential alcohol, and the best growers tasted their grapes to gauge the true maturity and waited to harvest. With hindsight, the later-picked white wines proved the most successful in 2007" –
