Burgundy (Cote d'Or) - 2007
Fine year with crystalline purity of fruit and very good ageing potential. Drink the 2006s, 2005s and 2004s before these.
"Unusually, the red grapes were picked before the whites, starting at the end of August. In the white grapes, full flavour maturity lagged behind potential alcohol, and the best growers tasted their grapes to gauge the true maturity and waited to harvest. With hindsight, the later-picked white wines proved the most successful in 2007" – Toby Morrhall
