St Emilion/Pomerol - 2006

Pomerol generally better than St-Emilion. Mid-term keepers.
Not as great as 1998 on the right bank, but close in quality to the admirable 2001 vintage. The wines of the 'côtes' like Ausone, Bel-air, Clos Fourtet and Tertre Roteboeuf were particularly successful, but quality in this large appellation is uneven and generally less consistent than in Pomerol.
