New wine laws will see some Vin de Pays switching to the new title of IGP (Indication Géographique Protégée) from the 2010 vintage. However, as the changes are not enforceable and ‘traditional names’ are considered equivalent to the new nomenclature, not all producers of Vin de Pays wines are likely to make the change. Eagle-eyed members may have already noticed, however, that our own Society-label rosé is now labelled Pays d’Oc IGP instead of Vin de Pays d’Oc. The wine inside the bottle is just as delicious, whatever the name.
