The Bordeaux Côtes have long been on the secret radar of thoughtful claret lovers. What sets them alight is often one outstanding property and a strong name from a prestigious commune: step forward François Mitjavile of Saint-Emilion grand cru Le Tertre-Rôteboeuf, whose Roc de Cambes blazes the trail of the Côtes de Bourg. Jean de Boigne does the same for Castillon with Château de Pitray. Verticals from both properties make the case.
