About Tasting Events
"The discovery of a wine is of greater moment than the discovery of a constellation. The universe is too full of stars." - Benjamin Franklin
We suspect that Mr Franklin may be right on this one, and it is with this in mind that we take The Society to members all across the country, holding over 100 events each year.
Wine is best tasted and discussed in the company of like-minded people, and to this end members have always appreciated getting together to learn more about wine; to try new styles and varieties, to make new discoveries, and most importantly to enjoy themselves.
Society events take several forms, ranging from informal, walk-around affairs to tutored tastings, gastronomic dinners, musical evenings, Saturday morning workshops and monthly lunches at Stevenage.
They also provide an excellent opportunity for members to meet staff, and to discuss The Society's operation in person.
