About The Society
- High-quality wines at all prices. Around 1,500 wines listed with over 200 of them priced at less than £7.95 a bottle.
- No minimum order quantity.
- Pleasure, not profit: as a co-operative, any surplus profits are used to enhance services and prices.
- Easy to get started.
The Society owes its existence to the last of the Great Exhibitions in 1874, when a 'co-operative company' was established to buy good-quality wines on a regular basis and sell them to members. We continue to be owned solely by its members and trade only with them, providing the highest possible quality of wines and services at the best possible prices.

The Society's nine buyers, recognised as among the best in the wine business, travel for some 300 days and thousands of miles each year. The mutual non-profit-maximising business model means the buyers' brief is to buy only wines which they are enthusiastic about from producers who share their passion for quality.
