Quality in the Rhône shines through at every price level. The current Society blend is from the 2008 vintage and is drawn from sources on both banks of the Rhône and is principally made from the grenache grape. Deliciously round and fruity.

Members' Reviews

"This is a good quality wine which I have found to be the same year after year. It is possible to find better quality Cotes du Rhone red wines from The Wine Society if you pay more, but this is good for everyday drinking. Having tried some Cotes du Rhone red wine from other wine clubs in the last 2 years I have come to the conclusion that The Wine Society still offers the best value of all."
Mr Alan Dyson (12-Aug-2009)
"This wine was good value. For a young wine it was smooth and flavourful. I personally would prefer a slightly sweeter wine with a little more body but one seldom gets perfection at any price and this wine was most enjoyable."
Dr Stuart G McAlpine (10-Aug-2009)
"I have never considered Cotes-du-Rhone as one of the best wines. But then again it has never been one of the most expensive wines. In my opinion Cotes-du-Rhone has always been the one wine which is the best value for money. It has therefore always been the mainstay of my stock over the years, and this 2007 vintage "Society's own" is one of the best I have come across"
Gerald Horrocks Esq (09-Aug-2009)
"This is a wine that I like to keep in as it is very good with most meals particularly roast chicken. It is uncomplicated wine that does not overpower food but has sufficient body for a wine lover to be satisfied "
Mr Richard Buckley (06-Aug-2009)
"A deliciously smooth and fruity wine with a typical Rhone finish. Excellent value."
Mr Jack Hasdell (05-Aug-2009)
"It's our house red wine, very difficult to beat for everyday drinking!"
Ms Sal Keighley (11-Jul-2009)
"Spent far more on bottles that don't taste as good. Can't say how well it keeps because in this house a case doesn't last long enough."
Mr Darren McKean (08-Apr-2009)
