In pursuit of Piedmont's finest

I have long wanted to visit this part of Italy, so I was thrilled to join buyer Sebastian Payne MW & Merchandising manager, Louisa Peskett, on a trip in January to select our range of 2013 Barolos.

It's often the little surprises that make these trips all the more memorable – stained-glass windows in the cellars at GD Vajra; a gift of home-grown hazelnuts at Ciabot Berton; the discovery that raw sausages can be nice!
