The heart of Italy and in many ways its wine trade too, this area is home to some of the most famous and celebrated regions in the country such as Chianti and Montalcino; but while the sangiovese grape is king here, there’s plenty more to explore. Umbria’s wines, whether the full-throttle sagrantino reds of Montefalco or the delicious whites of Orvieto, are well worth getting to know.
