The best vintage in ten years and better-than-ever own-label wines
2018 is Chile’s best vintage for a decade. Everything is good: intense sauvignon blancs, fresh and firm chardonnays, aromatic pinots, opulent carmenères and beautifully balanced cabernets. Snap them up as soon as they start appearing!
Our own-label wines have never been better and I am very pleased with the exclusive blends we have made with our suppliers. A new wine, The Society’s Rapel Carmenère 2018, will appear later in the year. It’s a lovely example of this ripe and fleshy grape.
Chile continues to explore the heights and from Tabalí we offer a lovely new viognier from a 1,600m vineyard in the foothills of the Andes in the eastern part of the Limarí Valley, with attractive aromas of peach and apricot kernels.
