Following the great success of the previous two vintages of this Society exclusive, I’m delighted to offer members the chance to order the 2020 vintage of Viña Zorzal’s wonderful garnacha, Cueva de la Mora. From the Navarra region next door to Rioja, this wine is available to order now at a fantastic price for guaranteed future drinking pleasure.
The wine will be delivered in early 2023
Viña Zorzal are among Spain’s hottest newer names, and this wine shows off their hallmark purity and elegance without excessive winemaking, simply relying on high-quality fruit. In this case, that fruit is from a single vineyard located high in the hills in the north of Navarra.
Cueva de la Mora or the ‘Blackberry Cave’ near Fitero is both a landmark and legend in this part of Spain. It inspired the poet and storyteller Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer to write his tale of the ill-fated romance between a Christian knight and a young Moorish girl, whose spirit haunts the spot. Little more than a decade after the story was published, The Wine Society was founded at the Royal Albert Hall, which features on the label.
Available nowhere else, this is a fantastic wine offering great value for money. Don’t miss it.
