Guide for ordering online

Ways to choose your wines:

1 – Quick Order

Quick Order displays a list of frequently and recently ordered wines, which you can select and add to a list that can then be placed quickly and easily into your shopping basket.

If you already know the products you wish to order, you can also enter the reference codes, quantities and units (cases or bottles) then click the 'Add Products' button.

2 – Browse the full range

If you are looking to explore The Society's range, you can browse using the Buy Wine and Fine Wine pages, both of which are accessible from the homepage.

You can also use Buy Wine menu to browse by region, category and/or bottle price, and the Fine Wine menu to view ranges of special bottles, including anniversary wines and bin ends.

You can refine any of the product listings pages by using the filters located at the top of each page. You can filter by product type, grape variety, alcohol level and vintage. Each time you select a filter the list narrows to reflect the choice you have made.

3 – Keyword Search

Looking for a specific wine? If you know what you are looking for, simply type the wine name into the keyword search box which you can find at the top of the website.
Alternatively you can phone The Society on 01438 741177 and ask us about any wine you are looking for.

4 – Advanced search

Advanced search enables you to choose wines by selecting a range of specified criteria. You can find what you are looking for by selecting as many or as few of the options as you require. You can search by product type, country, region, appellation, grape variety, alcohol level, sweetness/fullness or price.

After submitting you can change your search criteria by scrolling to the bottom of the list of wines displayed.

5 – Use the Vintage Chart

The Vintage Chart is mainly relevant for wines of a quality that will improve with age.

  • Click the icons in the chart to view the wines available from our List.
  • Ratings displayed in white can be clicked to view the wines available from our list.
  • Shaded-out boxes display vintages where wines are currently unavailable.

6 – Let The Society select the wine for you

If you have purchased from The Society before, you can view a list of 'Wines to Try' on the left-hand side of the homepage. The selection is personal to you and based on the styles of wines you have bought from The Society in the past.

Once you have chosen your wines...

You can view your basket at any time. In the basket you can delete or change the quantities of the products as necessary. When you are happy with your order proceed to 'Checkout'.
