Château Malescot-Saint-Exupery

This third growth Margaux estate of 23.5 hectares has a long history dating back to 1616, and over the centuries passed through many hands and suffered many divisions until 1955 when it was purchased by the Zuger family. They have owned it for half a century and over the years have invested heavily and wisely here, improving everything from the vine stock to the cellars in the centre of the town of Margaux.

Jean-Luc Zuger oversees the five parcels of vines in the commune, planted with 50% cabernet sauvignon, 35% merlot, 10% cabernet franc and 5% petit verdot, a grape variety becoming increasingly popular in Bordeaux for the colour and richness it can bring to blends. The wines are aged in all new oak for 14 months.
