La Rose Montauran is owned by the Lasnier family. Current owner Francis took over the reins at 30 years ago, and has built a modern and functional winery to vinify his wines. Their land covers 27 hectares of clay and limestone overlaying a gravel subsoil in the Entre-Deux-Mers, with good exposure as the gentle slopes face south on the plateau of Jugazan.
Plantings are 90% merlot and 10% cabernet sauvignon with an average age of 25 years. Fermentation is in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, with a proportion of micro-oxygenation and ageing is for 12 months in stainless steel.
