Château Gadet Terrefort

Originally founded in 1921 as a 4-hectare vineyard and smallholding supporting 30 cows, a handful of pigs and a horse called Mignonne, Christian Bernard took over from his father in the early 1970s and began a programme of expansion. The estate now covers nearly 40 hectares of vines with the cattle farmed alongside them, and a horse and the pigs kept as a side-line!

Situated close to Ordonnac and adjacent to the Gironde estuary in the Haut-Médoc, the estate benefits from a mix of clay, limestone, sand and gravel soils classically associated with the area, and a south-westerly exposure. Plantings of cabernet sauvignon (60%) and merlot (40%) are just as classic.
