Since Jérôme Coursodon took over the winemaking at this Saint-Joseph estate in the late 1990s, the wines have improved enormously. They show concentrated dark fruit and characters but are much more refined and balanced than of old. Jérôme Coursodon is committed to showing the virtues of the appellation which is credited with producing polished and elegant syrah. His fruit is sourced from vines on the western slopes surrounding Mauves and yields are kept low. Intelligent use of oak at this estate produces wines with real class and elegance.
The velvety, generously-flavoured Paradis de Saint-Pierre is his prestige cuvée. Silice is made from younger vines in an easy, fruity style for more immediate drinking. His full-flavoured whites are steadily catching up the reds. The wines are bottled without fining or filtering.
