Domaine Houchart

Domaine Houchart lies in a beautiful setting in the Provence countryside at the foot of the Montagne Sainte-Victoire. The Houcharts are important landowners in the Aix-en-Provence area, with substantial vineyard holdings around Puylobier, and Geneviève Houchart became part of another important dynasty – the Quiots of Domaine du Vieux Lazaret in Châteauneuf-du-Pape – when she married Jerôme Quiot. The couple are based in Châteauneuf but here at Domaine Houchart their son Jean-Baptiste Quiot makes charming and gentle wines in all three colours. It is the Provençal rosés however which are best known. Fragrant and delicious, they are ideal for drinking on their own on a summer’s evening or with a Niçoise salad and other Mediterranean-style dishes.
