Bric Cenciurio was founded in 2004 when brothers-in-law Franco Pittore and Carlo Sacchetto bought some Roero land together and pooled their expertise and experience in winemaking to make wine for themselves. They were just getting properly established two years after starting out when Franco was tragically killed in a tractor accident, leaving Carlo to take up the reins, at first alone and then with the help of Franco’s sister Firoella and sons Alessandro and Alberto.
After a great deal of work they made the brothers dream a reality and now, with the assistance of consultant oenologist Gianfranco Cordero, they make excellent wines from their own fruit, grown on three sites totalling 12 hectares.
Nebbiolo is worked in the Coste di Rose and Monrobiolo Bussia sub-zones of Barolo, old-clone barbera at Magliano Alfieri in Alba and the indigenous white arneis in Castellinaldo at the Bric Cenciurio site itself.
