Founded in 1953, this large estate is in the heart of the Valdizarbe area in the centre of Navarra (the wine region directly east of Rioja), where many of the region’s most favourable vineyard areas are found. The six-mile trip through the estate on the way to the winery highlights the beauty of its 1,300 hectares of lush forests, fascinating wildlife and cool riverbanks.
There are 210 hectares of vines on the sunny slopes of the El Perdón mountain range and along the riverbanks of the river Arga. The team grows a variety of red grapes, chardonnay for its white wine and garnacha for its rosé. Their garnacha, which comes from 50-year-old vines, is particularly impressive.
