Stella Bella Wines

Stuart PymStella Bella Wines is a small, privately-owned winemaking outfit in the Margaret River region of Western Australia. It sources fruit from the central and southern parts of the Margaret River region as well as controlling around 80 hectares of its own vineyards. The winemaker is Stuart Pym who makes wines under three different quixotic names – Suckfizzle, Stella Bella and Skuttlebutt.

The Stella Bella and Skuttlebutt ranges are very impressive at their price points, often punching well above their respective weights for both reds and whites, managing to express the restraint of Margaret River style whilst delivering fruitiness. The Suckfizzle wines are a notch up again in quality from specific vineyard sites. The cedary Suckfizzle cabernet sauvignon in particular has intense savoury fruit and tannins and deserves some keeping.
