The Prielers are an established farming family in the southern part of Austria close to the Hungarian border. The old family estate farmed grain, beets and potatoes as well as animals before it became solely wine-focused in the 1970s, with the family gradually acquiring vineyard holdings in the area. The younger generation has been steadily taking the helm in recent years. The Prielers produce a classic expression of the blaufränkisch grape which is modern in style, but at the same time firmly rooted in the soil in which it is grown. They are without doubt currently one of the leading producers in Austria’s dynamic red winemaking scene.
