
The scion of a winemaking family with seven generations of history behind them, Yves Guegniard is the proprietor of Domaine de la Bergerie in Coteaux du Layon, part of the Anjou region.
The schist and gravel soils in which his vineyards thrive provide the basis for typical chenin blanc wines of various styles, from rich yet vibrant botrytis affected sweet wines to mouthwateringly intense dry whites.
Low yields, green harvests and rigorous sorting of the grapes at the winery, followed by vinification of separate vineyard parcels all add up to high-quality wines reflective of their terroir.
