Bründlmayer
Stylistically, these are ‘Goldilocks’ wines, not as focused and crystalline as some, but not as ripe and baroque as others, and they are held in extremely high regard for good reason.
This family estate dates to 1581, but its rise to becoming one of Austria’s best-quality producers only began around the 1980s. This was when Willi Bründlmayer returned to Austria from Burgundy and introduced an approach to quality and terroir appreciation inspired by this great French region. This approach was controversial at the time, but it sowed the seeds of modern Austrian fine wine today. Willi still heads the winery today with his wife Edwige, now supported by the incredibly talented Master of Wine, Andreas Wickhoff.
In order to support our en primeur offer, the winery has held their prices for us, allowing members to buy the 2023 vintage wines at the same price as 2022.
