Jurtschitsch
These wines are fine-bonded and crystalline in style, with wonderful finesse, picked earlier than the likes of Schloss Gobelsburg and Bründlmayer.
The Jurschitsch winery dates to the 1500s and since 1868, has been passed through Alwin’s family before he and his wife Stefanie inherited it from his father and uncles. Stefanie is from a German winemaking family and Alwin travelled the world making wine before the pair took over the estate and began putting into practice many of their worldly learnings. They have maintained the beautiful ancient cellars and buildings remarkably well but one of their most significant influences on this historic business was drastically reducing the amount of vineyard holdings, keeping just the best sites, and converting to organic winemaking. Their aim is to capture freshness in their wines and reflect the vineyard site in as pure and unadulterated way as possible.
To support this en primeur offer, Alwin and Stefanie have held their prices especially for us from the 2022 vintage, making these particularly good value to buy now.
