Schloss Gobelsburg
One of the oldest wineries in Austria and a historic monastery, which has had vineyards as part of the estate since 1171. The estate is now run by Michael Moosbrugger, who is also the man leading the Austrian vineyards quality classification. He leads by example. These are classically styled wines with a certain richness and grandeur. Often left to ripen longer than the likes of Jurtschitsch or Bründlmayer, they have significant substance, but the hallmark Austrian acidity balances the richness beautifully and the wines present as textured, full and ageworthy. We have added two additional vineyards this year, so more members can access the wines of this great estate without having to commit to their most premium Heiligenstein and Lamm.
