We are very excited to offer a trio of the Cape’s finest whites, from the cellar of celebrated winemaker Chris Alheit, and a fine vintage, as part of our new First Release series.
The wines are Cartology, Fire By Night and Vine Garden, all from the 2021 vintage.
First Release gives you the chance to secure sought-after wines before they reach our warehouse. Ordering in this way means you can reserve finished wines ready to be shipped (unlike en primeur wines, which are still maturing), at their opening in-bond price: when they arrive, the decision of when to take delivery or drink them is yours.

Chris Alheit, the modest, unassuming rock star of South Africa’s ‘new wave’, burst onto the wine scene a decade ago with the first release of his old-vine ‘Cartology’ white. He is a white wine specialist with a particular love of old-vine chenin blanc, and undisputed skill in blending carefully chosen components to make unique expressions of modern South Africa.
We have followed Alheit Vineyards since the maiden 2011 release and receive good, but still limited, allocations of these wines which we are delighted to be offering here. Characterised by more moderate palate weights, the 2021 vintage is a must-try.
