The legend of Château Latour: new releases to reserve now

Château Latour 2016 and Les Forts de Latour 2019

Château Latour, arguably the greatest of the Pauillac First Growths, have released their 2016 grand vin for the first time, along with their second wine, Les Forts de Latour, from the 2019 vintage.

Having left the en primeur system back in 2013, Château Latour have led the way in offering their wines when ready to drink rather than while still in barrel. They are now releasing their wines from arguably the two greatest vintages of the past 20 years – 2016 Château Latour and 2019 Les Forts de Latour.

I visited the estate in January to taste, and we’re delighted to offer you these highly sought-after wines. The 2016 vintage has provided wines of outstanding concentration and density of fruit with remarkable capacity for ageing. While released now, we’d highly recommend maturing this wine for another decade at least. 2019 has quickly become one of my favourite vintages since taking over, showing great balance and purity, and the Les Forts 2019 stood comfortably alongside its bigger brother, and while more approachable now I’d suggest another five years before opening.

I highly recommend taking advantage of these two fabulous wines.
