Languedoc 2022

Variety and value from Daumas Gassac, Prieuré Saint Jean De Bébian, Domaine de Perdiguier and more

Languedoc 2022

The Languedoc covers a huge area and at one time produced a third of all French wine. Much of it is unexciting but here and there, and especially where Greeks and Romans first planted, there is real potential to make wines of quality and distinction.

Order by midday on Friday 9th August

This is what this selection is about: outstanding-value red wines in an exceptional vintage via a band of talented winemakers. Among the stars are the Guibert brothers with a new syrah from the Daumas Gassac estate, Château Saint Eulalie, Domaine de la Rectorie, La Jasse Castel and more. Reserve them by the bottle, or enjoy a range of different expressions of this superb year with a mixed case of six wines.

The 2022 vintage was so good that growers could wait for full ripeness and pick at optimum conditions. The key to surviving, and thriving, in such a hot and unrelenting summer was having enough water in the ground, and luckily, the winter of 2021/22 was wet. Conditions in the vineyard were very good and disease free, with the deeper root systems of older vines performing particularly well. The results are not to be missed.
