This global exclusive shows what can be achieved through our Society’s longstanding and fruitful relationships. Thanks to just such a partnership with Prophet’s Rock in New Zealand, we have been given access to an outstanding parcel of vines and exclusive bottling. Named ‘The Members’ Block’ as an ode to our members, it’s a wine that captures the magic of pinot noir, so often referred to as the heartbreak grape, at a price that makes it unmissable.

Prophet’s Rock winemaker Paul Pujol is a pinot noir master. Before moving to the remote hills of Central Otago, he worked at several estates, including Burgundy’s legendary Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé. So firmly does Francois Millet of this domaine believe in Prophet’s Rock’s quality and Paul’s ability that he produces a collaboration wine with him – pinot noir praise doesn’t come any higher! It is a coup therefore to capture some of the best hillside fruit from this estate for an exclusive bottling.
The Members’ Block is a selection of some of the best rows of the Prophet’s Rock ‘Rocky Point’ vineyard, identified due to the warmer aspect in the middle of the slope producing wines of superior ripeness, structure and ageworthiness. After a couple of years offering this wine as ‘Sophora,’ we felt confident to do what we only do when we truly believe in something: we put our stamp on it.
