I’m thrilled to introduce you to Vignoble du Rêveur, an exciting new addition to our Alsace range. The motivation of young and dynamic couple Mathieu Deiss and Emmanuelle Milan is to produce wines that allows them to express the terroir and grape varieties in their own way. Or in Mathieu’s words, they want to ‘break the rules’! Their biodynamic vines are co-planted, so their wines are blends, rather than single varieties, offering a new perspective on Alsace wines. These are exciting, boundary-pushing wines united by precision, balance and delicious drinkability.

The seven-hectare estate, situated just north of Colmar in the commune of Bennwihr, was set up after Mathieu inherited the vineyards from his maternal uncle and grandfather. Mathieu remains as the winemaker at his father’s estate, the well-renowned Domaine Marcel Deiss, where they adopt a natural winemaking philosophy.
Mathieu and Emmanuelle have a particular focus on texture, structure and minerality, often achieved with some level of skin contact and maceration as well as their work in the vineyard. One example of their innovative style and approach is the very pale Rien ne Bouge, a red made from pinot noir grapes that have been macerated on gewurztraminer juice. There are four wines available to reserve individually, and a special mixed case to let you try your way through this compelling range.
