Classic perfume of rose petals and a touch of tar, complimented by pure raspberry and a twist of fennel lead to an energetic palate with vivid red fruit around a mineral core. This has significant structure but remarkable finesse too. The tannins are firm but graceful and the acidity is brilliantly crisp on the long finish. Drink from 2025 to 2035. 14%

Made from a small parcel of old vines from the centre of the hill here, this is a superbly concentrated and structured Barbaresco, with significant tannic backbone and real focus. Savoury and brooding, with botanical aromas, dark berry fruit and carpaccio notes, this also shows an irony minerality. A wine worth cellaring. Drink from 2026 to 2034. 14%
