Founded in 1969 by Dr Bailey Carrodus, Yarra Yering has been a pioneer in the Yarra Valley, particularly known for its cooler-climate Bordeaux varieties including cabernet sauvignon, merlot, malbec and petit verdot. These varieties thrive in the Yarra Valley, helping to establish the region as one of Australia’s best for refined, ageworthy wines.
Since 2013, the winery has flourished under the guidance of Sarah Crowe, who was named James Halliday’s Winemaker of the Year in 2017. Sarah’s meticulous approach has maintained Yarra Yering’s legendary status while always innovating to keep the wines fresh, balanced, and expressive.
