Reserve yours today en primeur
As the name suggests, this is a special red: the blend is similar to the popular regular bottling of Weinert’s Carrascal, but this one-off blend is made up of 11 different vintages between 2004 and 2017.
The result is a complete and delicious wine, which will be bottled in 75cl and magnums after this offer and delivered in the summer.

A fitting celebration
Weinert celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2018 and this wine was originally planned to be released then. Fittingly, however, it’s a little late. Weinert’s inaugural 1977 vintage was so good because it experienced a similar fate: the builders were behind schedule and the winery was not complete as harvest approached, meaning picking had to be postponed. Fortunately, the weather was excellent and the extra-ripe grapes produced a wonderfully rich wine!
This multi-vintage wine is delightfully full and powerful too.
A blend of 11 vintages between 2004–2017, bottled in 2019. The blend of grapes is similar to the regular Carrascal – 55% malbec, 30% cabernet sauvignon and 15% merlot – but compared to the lieder of the normal bottling, the different vintages combine to produce something more like a choral symphony!
There is a wonderful polyphonic harmony and complexity from the deep bass note of mature, mellow flavours of leather and tobacco, with cedar from the tenor and a lovely top note of black forest fruit from the sopranos. A complete wine, offered at an excellent price.
When to drink it:
This wine is ready to drink but to enjoy it at its best, we suggest you wait at least a year if you can. Wines kept for many years in wood like this one can be 'shaken up' a bit by the bottling process, and as such, this one may need a little time to readjust after it is bottled in February (under Diam cork). It will continue to develop further until at least 2026 (75cl) or 2028 (magnums).
