2022 White Burgundy Case
Wines included
Olivier Leflaive Les Sétilles Bourgogne Blanc 2022
Ripe yet fresh balance of flavours and aromas. Fresh and fruity nose in the apple and melon spectrum and creamy palate with a seam of underlying freshness. About 20% comes from the cooler Hautes Côtes vineyards for freshness, with the rest mainly from vineyards classified as bourgogne situated on the land below Meursault and Puligny. About 65% is barrel-fermented and kept on its lees for richness, while 35% is tank fermented to capture the freshness. Drink from 2025 to 2027. 13%
Olivier Leflaive, Auxey-Duresses 2022
Fine, intense aroma with intensity and lift. Lovely texture on the palate, creamy yet suffused with a lemony freshness. All barrel fermented with 15% new oak. Made from five vineyards: Macabrée, Hautés, Grandes Vignes, Fosses and Derrière le Four. This attractively allies richness and tension. Drink from 2026 to 2028. 13%
François d'Allaines, Bourgogne Blanc Côte Châlonnaise 2022
Very good quality for a Bourgogne due to the care and skill of the maturation. About eight months ageing on the lees in 228-litre barrels contributes some mid palate richness balancing the structure and freshness of the wine.
François d'Allaines, Rully Tête de Cuvée 2022
Lovely wine from the Côte Chalonnaise. It`s an assemblage of three vineyards Les Saint-Jacques, En Varot and Chaponnière. Barrel fermentation and ageing develops the aromas and flavours of chardonnay. Fine, expressive nose and round yet fresh palate. Drink from 2024 to 2027. 13%
Château de Beauregard, Pouilly-Fuissé 2022
Attractive balance of fresh and fruity nose and creamy palate. The palate texture is derived from maturation on yeast lees in 50% 228-litre barrels and 50% in tile-lined vats for 10 months, and then the assemblage is aged another six months in stainless-steel vats after blending. Drink from 2025 to 2029. 13.5%
Château de Beauregard, Saint-Véran La Roche 2022
High-quality Saint-Véran, as good as some producers Pouilly-Fuissés, made from a well-sited south-facing vineyard in Chasselas. Ripe and richly flavoured with a hint of vanilla from 10 months maturation in 228-litre barrels, then 6 months in stainless steel. Drink from 2025 to 2028. 13.5%
