Aglianico del Vulture, Calice Donato D'Angelo 2019
Grown on volcanic soils at 500m altitude, this aglianico has great freshness and minerality to balance the bramble fruit and wood spice absorbed during 18 months in large casks. The family-owned business of Donato d’Angelo was established as recently as 2001 and is led by Filomena Ruppi and her husband Donato D’Angelo. Aglianico dominates plantings, with cabernet sauvignon and fiano grown alongside it on volcanic soils in the north of Basilicata.
