Anyday Rhone Case
Wines included
The Society's French Syrah 2023
This is a lovely, supple syrah, brimming with ripe flavours of red summer fruit. Most of it comes from vineyards in Brézème, on limestone soils, a dozen miles or so from Crozes.. A perfect little red for grills and simple meals.
Côtes-du-Rhône Rive Droite Rive Gauche 2023
A stunning, fruit-packed wine with easy charm. The name was conjured up because this wine is sourced from both banks of the Rhône, with the grenache coming mainly from the left and the syrah from the village of Daumazan, near the Pont du Gard, on the right bank.
The Society's Côtes-du-Rhône 2023
Ripe, fruity grenache-syrah blend from an outstanding producer in Vinsobres. Expect brambles and dark cherry and plums with hints of liquorice and clove spice. Juicy core and well handled-tannins.
Côtes-du-Rhône, Domaine Jaume 2022
Three generations of the Jaume family farm some 200 acres of vineyard in the village of Vinsobres. The climate here is influenced by Alpine foothills so that cooling breezes play on the vines, preserving fresh-fruit flavours in the wines. Fleshy and generous core with bright red berries and hint of liquorice and clove.
Costières de Nîmes La Ciboise, Chapoutier 2024
From a stony plateau to the south of the Roman city of Nîmes in the south of France comes this exuberantly fruity grenache-syrah blend, offering lots of energy and crunchy fruit with spice and liquorice. A perfect anyday drinking red.
Ventoux Les Travèrses, Paul Jaboulet Aîné 2023
We are thrilled that star producer Paul Jaboulet Aîné produce this wine exclusively for The Wine Society. Richly flavoured and fruity but always fresh from the slopes of Mont Ventoux. This member favourite is predominately grenache with a little syrah in the blend. Expect a delicious palate of ripe red berries, liquorice and a touch of spice.
