Anyday Rhone Mixed Case
Wines included
The Society's French Syrah 2023
This is a lovely, supple syrah, brimming with ripe flavours of red summer fruit. Most of it comes from vineyards in Brézème, on limestone soils, a dozen miles or so from Crozes.. A perfect little red for grills and simple meals.
Côtes-du-Rhône Rive Droite Rive Gauche 2023
A stunning, fruit-packed wine with easy charm. The name was conjured up because this wine is sourced from both banks of the Rhône, with the grenache coming mainly from the left and the syrah from the village of Daumazan, near the Pont du Gard, on the right bank.
The Society's Côtes-du-Rhône 2023
Ripe, fruity grenache-syrah blend from an outstanding producer in Vinsobres. Expect brambles and dark cherry and plums with hints of liquorice and clove spice. Juicy core and well handled-tannins.
Côtes-du-Rhône, Domaine Jaume 2022
Three generations of the Jaume family farm some 200 acres of vineyard in the village of Vinsobres. The climate here is influenced by Alpine foothills so that cooling breezes play on the vines, preserving fresh-fruit flavours in the wines. Fleshy and generous core with bright red berries and hint of liquorice and clove.
Domaine Camp Galhan, Les Frigouliers, IGP Cévennes 2023
A delicious Rhône red that displays juicy red-berry fruits with wild strawberries and hint of black pepper and rosemary. This estate has been in the family since the 1900s but it is only fairly recently that the son, Alain Pourquier, decided to stop selling grapes to the co-operative and bottle under an estate label.
Côtes-du-Rhône, Château Courac 2021
A lighter-style Côtes-du-Rhône thanks to the vintage, and one that is drinking very well with lots of juicy accessibility and balance. Red-berry fruits and red-cherry notes combine with subtle black-pepper spice.
