Flavours of Spain
Viña Mayor Roble, Ribera del Duero 2020
A lively, fruity and fragrant tempranillo from Spain’s Ribera del Duero, which makes reds which are chunky and structured. This spends three months in oak which adds a spicy note to the red-fruit flavour.
Almazuela Blanco 2021
A refreshing white made from organic verdejo grapes and a Rueda in all but name as the grapes come from very fine vineyards there. Dry and unoaked with pungent tropical-fruit flavour.
Pazo de Villarei Albariño, Rías Baixas 2021
A lovely fruity introduction to the fresh, aromatic quality of Galicia’s star grape, soulmate of seafood and deliciously refreshing.
Navajas Crianza, Rioja 2017
A flattering and expressive Rioja full of vanilla and red fruit flavour made in the oaky style. It is consistently a favourite of members' year after year. Supple enough to be enjoyed on its own, this also deserves to be the centrepiece star for a leg of lamb or gently spiced, root-filled roast.
Casa Benasal Garnacha-Syrah-Monastrell, Valencia 2021
A plump, joyful organic Spanish red, juicy and friendly from sun-soaked vineyards in Valencia. This is made with no oak, resulting in vibrant red-fruit flavour.
Pepe Porter Mencía, Monterrei 2021
A refined, fleshy and gorgeously fruity mencía which is exactly what cool-climate Spain excels at. This is refreshing and vibrant. Great with charcuterie and roast chicken.
