Barolo Cannubi, Luigi Einaudi 2018
Cannubi is known for a distinctive aromatic profile that is textbook Barolo. Floral notes of rose, liquorice, black cherry and fresh tea develop on this precise, structured but lighter Barolo. It comes from a 2.5-hectare vineyard where grapes always ripen well and Einaudi`s 45-year old vines give extra depth and complexity.

Luigi Einaudi
Einaudi (prounce Ei, like ‘say’) is based in Dogliani, the hometown of Luigi Einaudi, Italy's first democratically elected president, who produced wine from the age of 23 with 12 hectares in here in 1897. His grandson, Matteo Sardagna, the current owner now has 52 hectares of vines, with 8 hectares in Barolo, 2 ha in Monforte and 5 ha in Neive, all of nebbiolo. The rest is in Dogliani and Farigliano. Since 1993 all the wine is made in the handsome cellars. The family house is now a bed and breakfast. The composer Lodovico Einaudi is Matteo's cousin.
