This vineyard of ancient geological river terraces that have created a brooding wine. With traditional cherry, rosehip and balsamic notes on the perfume this wine is inviting young but has wonderful structure that will allow it to age beautifully. Low stock: limited to six bottles per member.

This vineyard was once under water, and the soil is rich in calcium sea deposits with seashells littering the soil. From these richer soils the wine has a fuller mouthfeel with broader tannins supporting cherry and orange peel fruit with brick-dust minerality lengthening the finish. Very classy. Colledilà means the 'hill over there': it is a perfect site in this most classic of Italian regions, opposite the castle, planted with pure sangiovese on limestone. This cooler site has produced a 2019 with a wonderfully fragrant herbal bouquet and a gentle, beautifully balanced and long-lasting flavour of tart red fruit and samphire.
