Basilisco Teodosio, Aglianico Del Vulture 2021

0 star rating 0 Reviews
Bursting with blackberry, rosemary and violet aromas, this has rich, dense fruit on the palate and is vividly fresh with firm, fine powdery-yet-gripping tannins. Textbook aglianico of smoky minerality which nods to the volcanic soils on which its grown. Viviana Malafarina is well known locally for her attention and dedication to organic agriculture, and her passion for making aglianicos that have elegance and show terroir. Teodosio is made from aglianico vines planted on volcanic earth at 500m altitude, which enhances the perfumed notes of violets and Morello cherries. Viviana is a former teacher, sailor, chef and tour guide on the Orient Express, and is now the custodian of some ancient vines and a 16th-century winery in Basilicata, the instep of Italy's boot.
