Weinert Carrascal Malbec 2020

Big, round and fruity Argentine malbec matured 18 months in old oak foudres of 2000 to 9000-litres until tannins are sweet and soft. It comes from Finca Besares in Lujan de Cuyo, a small eight-hectare vineyard located in Chacras de Coria that was planted circa 1950. It has a natural low yield of about 42-ha. This is also Fair for Life certified for their ethical approach to their work.

Argentina £13.50 per bottle

The Society's Australian Shiraz 2021

Aside from being good people, Bleasdale also make wines that consistently overperform, even in more challenging vintages. This is a prime example. It's wonderfully vibrant, bold, generous and fruity, with flavours of black cherry, blueberry and blackberry. Given the outstanding quality of the 2021 vintage, its no surprise that this may well be the best ever release of this wine.

Australia £8.95 per bottle
2023 - 2025

Stonedance Hutton Red, Piekenierskloof 2023

Richly fruited and generous South African blend of shiraz, mourvèdre, cinsault and carignan packed with bramble, blackberry and spice notes with an ample palate, soft tannins and impressive concentration for the price.

Côtes-du-Rhône Rive Droite Rive Gauche 2022

Even among the Rhône’s many great vintages in the last few years, 2022 stands out as something special. And, speaking of standing out, this gorgeous, pocket-friendly expression of this wonderful year, sourced from both banks of the river, really impressed our Wine Champions tasters with its ‘plush, easy charm’ and ‘substantial fruit and structure.’

France £8.75 per bottle

Salice Salentino Riserva, Vallone 2021

Made along the heel of Italy in sea-cooled but sunny Puglia, this old-vine negromaro is generous and soft, with blackcurrant and plum flavours. There's a little mocha and a sweeter finish point , with well judged ageing in large old oak barrels really enhancing the overall quality.
