Canterbury - 150th on the road
Our 150th anniversary is a reason to celebrate. Kick the year off in style and join us in a tasting that brings the essence of our celebrations to life, with original and exclusive wines made by some of our favourite growers.
To ensure we’re getting our exclusive 150th wines into as many members’ hands as possible, we’re taking the core of our Anniversary Fairs on the road, travelling the length and breadth of the country. These tastings offer the opportunity to sample never-before-tasted wines and kick off our anniversary year in style.
Our Tastings team will lay out an impressive selection of wines celebrating the 50-year era following the launch of The Society from 1874 to 1924. These wines will come from producers including Château Beaumont from Bordeaux’s Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux, historic German estate Dr. Bürklin-Wolf, our longest-standing supplier Alfred Gratien, and member favourite Lopez de Haro. There will be over 30 wines on show, including limited-edition wines, within a further range of wines from these and other celebrated producers.
Part of this event is a very special preview tasting of our fine wine Anniversary range to be launched later in the year with wines from Kanonkop, Yalumba, Paul Jaboulet Aîné and more.
For a range of styles to suit all palates at various prices, all hand selected (and in many cases co-created) by our expert team of buyers, this is a tasting not to be missed.
These events are all about ensuring our members get to taste as many of our wines as possible. They vary in size and theme, but all provide a relaxed environment for our members to guide their own tasting with a glass and booklet provided on arrival. Whether you want to discover something new, reconnect with an old favourite or try a wine you’d never ordinarily approach, then our walkaround tastings could be for you.
