Cenizales Tempranillo, Arlanza 2019
Red Wine from Spain
Arlanza is a small, relatively unknown Spanish region next door to more famous Ribera del Duero and this comes from the Arlanza co-operative and is 100% tempranillo. The wine has spent around six months in new and second-use oak but rather than dominate the fresh, intense, bright red-fruit flavours, this adds a subtle hint of graphite and chocolatey richness. You find the same full-throttle fruit and power that you'd expect from neighbouring Ribera but at an altogether more digestible price.
